Van Eye is designed primarily for overnight protection, helping show potential thieves that your tools have been removed and your van is empty.
During the Day, Keep Your Tools Out of Sight
When you’re working at a customer’s property or on site, your van will often contain valuable tools and equipment.
In these situations, you can simply switch Van Eye off using its built-in switch.
This disables the internal LED light, so anyone looking through the lens won’t have the benefit of an illuminated view of your tools.
It’s a straightforward feature that allows you to keep Van Eye switched off while your van is loaded.
At Night, Switch Van Eye On
Van Eye really comes into its own when you’ve finished work for the day.
You’ve taken your tools out of the van and it’s now parked on your driveway, outside your home or in a car park overnight.
Although you know the van is empty, somebody passing by doesn’t.
By switching Van Eye on, you’re giving potential thieves the opportunity to see that there’s nothing worth stealing.
When someone approaches and looks through the 220° wide-angle lens, the internal 30W LED light activates, illuminating the empty load area.
The aim is to discourage an unnecessary break-in before somebody damages your van trying to get inside.
Take the Tools Out. Then Show They’re Gone.
Van Eye isn’t designed to replace traditional van locks or alarms. Instead, it addresses a common problem: thieves breaking into vans that have already been emptied.
Simply switch it off when you’re carrying tools and switch it back on once you’ve removed them for the night.
It’s a small addition to your evening routine that could help protect your van from unnecessary damage.
